Submerged arc furnace is an electric arc furnace with electrodes buried in the charge, also known as arc resistance furnace. The characteristic of submerged arc furnace is that the charge is in the form of granules or powders, and the electrodes are buried inside the charge to heat it during operation. The thermal resistance of heating the charge comes partly from the arc heat between the electrode and the charge (see arc heating), and partly from the resistance heat generated by the current flowing through the charge (see resistance heating). This is a type of electric arc furnace with high power consumption. Submerged arc furnace is mainly used to reduce ore with coke to produce ferroalloys (mainly ferromanganese, ferrosilicon, ferrochrome, ferronickel), metallic silicon, fused corundum, matte, calcium carbide, yellow phosphorus, etc.
There are many structural types of submerged arc furnaces. The most widely used complete set of submerged arc furnace equipment for ferroalloy furnaces consists of furnace body, electrode system, power supply system, feeding and discharging device, control system, dust removal device, etc.
Our company can provide a complete set of production processes for the following products:
1. Ferroalloy series (ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochrome, silicon manganese, silicon chromium, etc.)
2. Metallic silicon, calcium carbide, yellow phosphorus, etc
3. Fused magnesium oxide, fused aluminum oxide, fused zirconium corundum, etc.
